Talisker Wilder Seas is a single malt Scotch whisky from the distillery on the Isle of Skye, the first in the brand's history to be finished in French oak casks that previously held XO cognac. Talisker x Parley Wilder Seas is a single malt Scotch finished in French oak XO cognac casks — a first in Talisker's history — bottled in a 100% recycled bottle made using biofuel. Strength is 48.6%.

The Talisker distillery lies on the coast of the Isle of Skye. Founded in 1830, it now belongs to Diageo, one of the largest spirits groups in the world. This is a lightly peated whisky with a maritime character. Talisker Wilder Seas is a single malt Scotch whisky from the Isle of Skye and the first from this distillery to mature in French oak cognac casks.

On the nose the whisky reveals itself gradually and in many layers. The aroma feels gentle and dry, yet overall rich, with densely packed notes of fruit and malt suggesting malt bread with sultanas, dates and dried figs; beneath them a delicate mineral trace of chalk leads to maritime notes of brine, salt crystals and pipe tobacco over a lightly fruity, vinous base. Adding a drop of water brings out a note of smoke.

On the palate the texture is creamy and the flavour develops in waves. A creamy-smooth impression introduces an expansive taste that begins intensely sweet before quickly moving into salty, smoky and fruity tones, with sweet accents of sultanas and figs in the mid-palate, framed by building peppery spice and smoke. The balance between the classic Talisker traits — maritime freshness and a very fruity, non-aggressive pepper — and the distinctive cognac notes is well handled.

This is a limited edition created in collaboration with the organisation Parley for the Oceans. Talisker joined forces with Parley for the Oceans to produce 17,940 bottles of the limited edition Talisker x Parley Wilder Seas single malt Scotch whisky. The edition is bottled in a 100% recycled bottle, with a label made from sugar cane and flax.
