Absolut Elyx is a Swedish single estate vodka, distilled from grain grown on a single estate and bottled at 42.3%. Every drop is made from wheat from a single estate in Åhus, Sweden, and the entire production process – from grain to bottle – takes place within a fifteen-mile radius.

The raw material is winter wheat cultivated in southern Sweden. The wheat comes from the single Råbelöf estate, which has been growing grain since the 15th century, and the region offers a favourable climate for winter wheat, with dry, cool winters and long, warm summers. Water from a local aquifer is also used in production. Carefully selected single estate winter wheat and water from the local aquifer combine to create Elyx's distinctive taste.

At the heart of the process is a copper column dating from 1921. Elyx is distilled in a vintage copper column from 1921, in which thousands of copper elements sacrificially wear away, removing unwanted compounds and enriching the final distillate, while the manually operated distillation gives the vodka its character. The still, known as Column 51 and made entirely of copper, is operated by a select few who have inherited the knowledge and experience of previous generations of vodka makers; the copper catalyses trace compounds in the spirit, purifying it and lending it a silky texture.

As for the aroma and flavour profile, the producer points to a grainy core with bakery notes. On the nose the vodka is clean and rounded, with fresh bread and notes of white chocolate, light grain and deep, gentle spice; on the palate it is full, with a silky texture, showing macadamia nuts, creamy grain, white chocolate and buttery notes of freshly baked bread, while the finish is rounded and gently spiced, with nuttiness and a balanced, warm conclusion. Critics also note citrus and mineral tones. The vodka has been described as clean, from its gently sweet aroma through to its crisp finish, with notes of marshmallow, grapefruit peel and chalk leading into a delicate vanilla-citrus exit.

Elyx works well in a martini and served over ice. It performs well in a martini or served on the rocks. The vodka was awarded the title of Best Vodka In The World as well as a Double Gold at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition in 2013.
