Dubliner Fiery Irish is an Irish whiskey-based liqueur, produced in Dublin, with a profile built around cinnamon and chilli. Within the Dubliner range it sits alongside the Whiskey & Honeycomb expression and the classic aged whiskey, as a flavoured release that combines whiskey with a pronounced note of spicy heat.
The liqueur is based on Dubliner Irish Whiskey – a blend of malt and grain whiskey matured in ex-bourbon barrels. The Dubliner announced the launch of a new whiskey liqueur variant flavoured with cinnamon and chilli; Dubliner Fiery Irish is the second flavoured whiskey liqueur in the Dubliner range, alongside Dubliner Whiskey & Honeycomb. Distilled in the heart of Dublin, Fiery Irish is a whiskey liqueur with the flavour of cinnamon and chilli.
The aroma and flavour profile is built on sweet and spicy notes. Fiery Irish brings to mind fresh cinnamon buns straight from the oven, with honeyed sweetness, toffee and a touch of caramel, closing with a brush of chilli. Cinnamon, caramel and toffee lead the way in this liqueur, followed by a late, distinct chilli finish.
The lower alcohol content sets this expression apart from the classic whiskey and makes the profile easier to appreciate. Although Dubliner Fiery Irish has a bold flavour, as a lower-strength whiskey liqueur it is more approachable in taste for those just discovering whiskey. The way it is served leaves plenty of room for freedom. It tastes best as a neat shot, as an after-dinner drink, or with a simple mixer such as apple cider or sparkling apple juice.
