The Singleton of Dufftown 21 Year Old is a single malt Scotch whisky from the Dufftown distillery in the Speyside region, matured for 21 years and bottled at 43% ABV. The dram bears the signature Singleton style, built on richness and notes of toffee, shaped within the Trinity Harmony philosophy.

At the heart of this edition lies a marriage of three cask types. Maureen Robinson and her team hand-selected and combined whiskies aged in Pedro Ximénez- and Oloroso-seasoned casks as well as in refill bourbon barrels, which had rested in private reserves for over two decades, before marrying the final distillate in European oak casks. The richness of these whiskies gained greater depth as the layers of flavour were enhanced by this third, carefully chosen cask. Master of Malt describes the process as a union of three cask styles, in which Oloroso-seasoned Pedro Ximénez casks and bourbon barrels were selected from the Dufftown archives, with the single malt married in European oak casks, in line with The Singleton's Trinity Cask Harmony process.

Fruit and spice notes lead on the nose. The nose is refined, with fruity aromas, honeyed ginger, toast and slices of sherry-soaked peach. The palate is sweet, rich and creamy, with an abundance of berry fruit, fruit drops, treacle toffee and burnt orange. On the palate the whisky is sweet and creamy-velvety, with a long, dry finish. The finish is long, with a hint of smoke, fruit compote and red berries.

This edition belongs to the brand's rare releases. Only 1 in 20,000 casks from The Singleton's maturing whisky stocks is deemed exceptional enough to be included in this rare single malt. Free from chill filtration and colouring, this single malt has been bottled at 43% ABV.
