The Macallan Art is the Flower is a Single Malt Scotch Whisky from Speyside, bottled at 50.4% ABV and matured exclusively in European sherry seasoned oak casks. The release was created in collaboration with the legacy of the Scottish architect, designer and artist Charles Rennie Mackintosh.

The distillery itself, founded in 1824, is among the most recognisable single malt producers in Scotland, and its character rests largely on maturation in sherry seasoned casks. This single malt, matured in European sherry seasoned oak casks – a nod to Mackintosh's time in Europe – presents a deeply coloured whisky with flavour characteristics that developed naturally over time. The edition was inspired by Mackintosh's 1902 stained glass work "The Spirit of the Rose", while the name refers to his lecture, in which the phrase "Art is the Flower" was uttered.

The aromatic profile is dominated by sherry notes: dried fruits – raisins and fig, polished oak, cherry, almonds, orange and molasses. On the palate the character shifts its accents – sweet oak, vanilla, ginger, apple and a note of tea leaf, with a finish that is long, sweet, rich and full. Some sources specify that the whisky matured in first-fill casks, which explains the intensity of the fruity-spicy profile.

The edition is limited, presented in decorative packaging that echoes Mackintosh's aesthetic. There is no age statement, and maturation in a single cask type makes it a coherent portrait of the distillery's sherry oak style.
