Master Blender Douglas Laing wyselekcjonował i połączył wyjątkowo bogate i słodkie szkockie whisky single grain z wyższą niż zwykle proporcją najlepszych, torfowych whisky słodowych z wybranych destylarni, głównie z Islay, aby stworzyć tę dymną wersję whisky King of Scots.
