Talisker Skye is a no-age-statement single malt Scotch whisky from the Talisker distillery on the Isle of Skye, in a style that is gentler and sweeter than the classic "ten". Talisker was founded in 1830 by Hugh and Kenneth MacAskill in Carbost on the shore of Loch Harport and remains the oldest working distillery on the Isle of Skye. The brand belongs to the Diageo group, and the bottling is at 45.8% ABV.

The whisky matures in a combination of refill American oak casks and toasted casks, with a slightly greater proportion of the toasted ones. The edition was created as a way of presenting Talisker's character in a more approachable form. Talisker Skye is the distillery's tribute to the island's contrasts – with smoky sweetness, maritime notes and a peppery edge.

The aroma and flavour profile is dominated by an interplay of citrus, smoke and spice. It opens with the citrus sweetness of fresh oranges, which develops into soft mango, while sea air with seaweed, driftwood and salt appears in the background. On the palate the whisky is medium-bodied and softly textured, initially gentle and sweet, mouth-coating, with light smoke, only to quickly become more assertive and dry, with a hot pepperiness.

The finish leads towards spice and peat. It is drier, of medium length, with a lingering, silky aftertaste in which light, peaty glowing embers can be detected. The construction captures the balance between sweetness, smoke and spice that the distillery chose for this edition. Talisker Skye is best served neat or with a splash of water, to open up the intense flavour a little and cleanse the palate between sips.

Skye was awarded a gold medal at the International Wine and Spirits Competition in 2015.
