Sibio Porto Reserva Tawny is a tawny-style port from the Portuguese Douro region, produced by Real Companhia Velha – the oldest wine company in Portugal, founded on 10 September 1756 by royal charter issued by King José I. Real Companhia Velha was established under the auspices of Prime Minister Sebastião José de Carvalho e Melo, Count of Oeiras and Marquis of Pombal, and has remained faithful to the age-old traditions of port making ever since.

This wine is the fruit of the vineyard that gives the line its name. In the Douro valley the company owns five quintas – Quinta das Carvalhas, Quinta de Cidrô, Quinta dos Aciprestes, Quinta do Casal da Granja and Quinta do Síbio – with a combined area of 557 hectares. This producer's red ports come from parcels planted at Quinta das Carvalhas, Aciprestes and Síbio. The blend is based on the classic Douro grape varieties – the Sibio line uses Touriga nacional, Touriga Franca and Tinta barroca.

Characteristic of the tawny style is a long contact with wood and gradual oxidation. Initially the red wine is created from a combination of different vintages, first maturing in oak vats, and after 2 to 4 years it is assembled into a blend; ageing and oxidation in oak change the colour from red to orange-amber (tawny), while the fresh fruit tones acquire notes of dried fruit and nuts, lending the wine a subtle elegance. The alcohol content is 20%.

In the profile of Real Companhia Velha's tawny, notes of dried fruit, nuts and sweet spices recur. The wine carries distinct tones resulting from ageing in wood, with aromas of dried fruit and red berries; it is sweet, with a marked structure of tannins and spirit; round, spicy and ready to drink. This is a sweet wine, intended rather for tasting on its own or with mature cheeses and desserts. This version is a miniature bottle with a capacity of 0.05 litre.
