Royal Salute 21 Year Old Richard Quinn Edition II Daisy is a blended Scotch whisky from the Speyside region, bottled at 40% ABV, created from the second collaboration between Royal Salute and British fashion designer Richard Quinn. This is a limited edition made for the second consecutive time in partnership with the acclaimed British designer Richard Quinn, continuing their first joint project.
The brand has a long history. Royal Salute was launched in 1953 by Chivas Brothers to commemorate the coronation of Queen Elizabeth II. To create the blend for this edition, Richard Quinn visited the historic Strathisla distillery, where he took part in a joint blending session with Master Blender Sandy Hyslop, and the finest Scotch whiskies from the Braeval, Strathisla and Caperdonich distilleries were hand-selected and married together to reflect Quinn's personal palate. Each of the components of the blend was matured for at least 21 years.
The aromatic profile is led by fruit. On the nose, vibrant notes of exotic mango and banana are complemented by creamy vanilla fudge and cinnamon, with a subtle touch of roasted chestnuts. On the palate the whisky becomes fuller and fruitier. The rich, fruity palate carries hints of sweet strawberry jam, pear and peach, while a note of honey blossom is gently balanced by spicy oak and a wisp of sweet smoke, with a finish that remains silky and complex, with a lingering whisper of smoke.
The bottle is decorated with a daisy motif, making it a collector's item in its own right. Richard Quinn is an award-winning British fashion designer known for bold, nature-inspired prints and an innovative approach to haute couture; he was the first recipient of the Queen Elizabeth II Award for British Design, and his collaboration with Royal Salute unites the world of fashion with the tradition of whisky making.
