Przepalanka Góralska Polowaca is a Polish flavoured vodka with a burnt sugar taste, produced by Toorank Polska. It is made from high-quality Polish grain spirit, whose main ingredient is traditional Polish rye, with the addition of flavouring components. Its strength is 37.5% and the bottle has a capacity of 0.5 litre.
The company is behind the Polowaca brand, under which an entire line of regional highlander vodkas is created. Toorank Polska S.A. has been operating on the Polish market since 1996 and its business consists in producing high-quality products intended for a narrow circle of connoisseurs, products for small communities in micro-regions.
The recipe itself draws on the tradition of highlander inns. The history of "Przepalanki" dates back to the 18th century; records from that period indicate that the secret ingredient behind the exquisite taste of przepalanka was the addition of properly burnt sugar at the right moment in the production of the spirit. In this case, rye spirit is combined with components that give it its distinctive profile. Burnt sugar vodka is a traditional highlander drink, which to this day is served at almost every wedding in the mountains.
The flavour profile is dominated by burnt sugar. Taste: burnt sugar, toffee. These are sweet, caramel notes resulting from the use of burnt sugar, which at the same time gives the spirit a darker colour.
