Poetry Vodka is a Polish grain vodka from Kalisz, created from a blend of rye and wheat, distilled six times. The vodka is made from rye and wheat grown by local farmers near the distillery, where crop rotation helps preserve soil fertility, while production relies on sixfold distillation and multi-stage filtration. It is bottled at 40% ABV.

The brand was born out of a collaboration between two people. Poetry Vodka is the result of a meeting between British musician Dave Stewart of Eurythmics and Swedish entrepreneur Johan Holgersson, and the project began in 2022 with a shared vision built around the perfect martini. The vodka is produced at a third-generation family distillery in Kalisz, a region known for its distilling traditions. It is in Kalisz that grain vodkas have held cultural significance since the 17th century, and the spirit is made by a family producer combining farming and distillation.

In the flavour profile, the producer points to a contrast between fruit and a dry, spicy side. Poetry Vodka opens with grainy notes and stone fruit – plum and apricot; on the palate there is a note of cherry sweetness balanced by peppery, spicy rye, while a silky texture leads to a dry finish with black olive, cardamom and sun-dried tomatoes. Dave Stewart himself describes its character as having a certain weight, in contrast to vodkas with a watery structure.

The producer describes the vodka as intended both for drinking neat and for cocktails. It is sometimes described as a base for martinis as well as for simpler servings in a shot glass. As for food pairings, sources suggest options that play on the dry finish. Black olive tapenade or bruschetta with sun-dried tomatoes suit the bold, dry finish, while an apricot tart or plum crumble will highlight the subtle fruity notes.
