Plose water has been produced by the Fellin family for over 70 years. The company's history began in 1952 with Giuseppe Fellini – a bold and energetic wine merchant. After attending a seminar at a trade fair in Parma on the growing popularity and importance of mineral water, he recalled that back in 1913 two eminent professors from the University of Vienna had studied the water from a mountain located right next to his summer house and pronounced it excellent. From this a company was born which exists to this day, remaining solely in family hands. Next to the house a modern, environmentally friendly plant was built, bottling the water in accordance with the most rigorous standards of hygiene. Their products are sold mainly in specialist shops – organic food stores, wine shops, fine delicatessens – and in the restaurant trade. For over 20 years Plose water has been served in many of Europe's finest restaurants, including those awarded prestigious Michelin stars. "Water is Only water, just as wine is Only wine." Water is an excellent companion to meals. Just as we match suitable wines to a chosen menu, so water can suit what we eat better or worse. The general rule is simple: with the main course and wine, serve a low-mineral, still water, whose taste must yield to the intense composition of the food and wine. It is important that the water be as pure as possible, since a wealth of minerals always alters our perception of taste somewhat. Between courses, however, it is advisable to drink lightly sparkling water – it wonderfully cleanses the palate and prepares the taste buds for new, fantastic taste sensations.
