Jura 10 Year Old is a single malt from the island of Jura in the Inner Hebrides, lightly peated and finished in Oloroso sherry casks. The whisky was introduced in 2018 as part of the refreshed core range from the Jura distillery, replacing Jura Origin.

The distillery stands in Craighouse, the island's only village, home to around 200 people. Jura was founded in 1810 by Archibald Campbell and is among the oldest still operating in Scotland; it was originally named Small Isles, a reference to the numerous rocky islets scattered across Craighouse Bay. The distillery's history is dominated by a long period of closure from 1901 to 1960, after which two local landowners resolved to revive whisky production; the architect William Delmé-Evans was engaged to design the new plant, and the first new spirit ran in 1963. Whyte & Mackay bought Jura in 1993 and remains the owner to this day, albeit within the Emperador Inc. group, which acquired Whyte & Mackay in 2014.

The whisky is made from barley distilled in exceptionally tall copper stills. It matures for 10 years in American white oak bourbon casks, with a finishing period in carefully seasoned Oloroso sherry casks from Jerez in Spain. It is a well-balanced expression within the Jura range, composed of peated and unpeated whisky matured in bourbon casks and finished in sherry, which adds darker notes to the soft smoke and fresh fruit. It is bottled at 40% ABV.

In the aroma and flavour profile, the distillery notes a copper-gold colour. The nose offers vanilla, orange, cracked black pepper and dark chocolate. The palate is led by nectarines, ginger, coffee and toasted almonds. The whisky has the subtle smoke and sweet fruitiness expected of a Jura single malt, with an intense accent of sherry sweetness underneath; Master of Malt's description mentions honeyed barley and peaches in syrup with light wisps of fragrant smoke, an oily and gently spiced opening, then earthy vanilla pod and chocolate-coated raisins, rounded off by a further touch of smoke. The set includes a glass.
