Johnnie Walker Blue Label Ice Chalet is a limited edition blended Scotch whisky from Scotland, the second instalment in the Cobalt series following the 2023 release of Blue Label Elusive Umami. Johnnie Walker Blue Label Ice Chalet is the second release in the limited whisky range known as The Cobalt Series, after the debut of Johnnie Walker Blue Label Elusive Umami in 2023. Its launch came in 2024.

The blend was created by Master Blender Emma Walker. To capture the essence of winter, Emma Walker and her team began by analysing historical data from the British Met Office, tracking Scotland's coldest winters across the decades, and then turned to Diageo's northernmost and highest-lying distilleries — particularly Dalwhinnie, Clynelish and Brora — to draw on whiskies distilled during those winters. The premise was to work with spirits produced in periods of low temperatures. These single malts were filled into casks during Scotland's coldest winters, when the critical first phase of maturation proceeds more gently, allowing the distillery character to come through more strongly.

The cask selection was extremely narrow. Only one in 10,000 casks met the criteria set for this edition. The edition is distinguished by a high proportion of whisky from the Brora distillery.

The profile is dominated by a soft, sweet-spiced character with a subtle note of smoke. The producer points to notes of vanilla, cloves, spiced apples and gentle smoke, coming together in a velvety smooth Scotch. It is a balanced Scotch with subtle accents of apple, clove and cinnamon, with a touch of smoke reminiscent of a fireplace in a mountain lodge. The whisky is bottled at 40% ABV.

The producer recommends serving it well chilled. Johnnie Walker Blue Label Ice Chalet is best served very cold, which gives the whisky a richer viscosity and enhances its soft, malty character. It is suggested to pour it over a block of ice in the dedicated Ice Chalet glass. The edition was created in collaboration with the ski-wear brand Perfect Moment. The bottle from this limited edition is delivered in a striking, deep blue, reversible bag, which can also be used as a stylish shoulder bag once the bottle has been removed.
