Glenmorangie Lasanta 15 Years Old is a single malt from the Highlands, matured in bourbon and oloroso sherry casks – a refreshed, older expression of the classic Lasanta from the distillery's core range. Lasanta has long been part of Glenmorangie's core line-up and was the last of them to receive an increased age statement, retaining the combination of maturation in bourbon and oloroso casks known from earlier editions.

The distillery is located in the northern Highlands. Glenmorangie was founded in 1843 by William Matheson in the town of Tain; originally it was called Morangie and only in 1887 did it become Glenmorangie. The distillery's stills are the tallest in Scotland, standing over five metres (16.5 feet) – as tall as an adult male giraffe. The brand currently belongs to the Moët Hennessy group.

The recipe for the 15-year-old version was developed by Bill Lumsden, Director of Whisky Creation, and Gillian Macdonald, Master Blender. The spirit first matures in bourbon casks, which impart the soft elegance characteristic of Glenmorangie, and then takes on sweetness and spice from selected oloroso sherry casks. The whisky is bottled at 43%.

In the aroma and flavour profile, the sherry casks play the leading role. The nose is aromatic, spicy and deep, with notes of mead, honeycomb, walnut and a touch of charcoal; with the addition of water it opens up to floral and fruity tones such as clove, blackcurrant blossom, chocolate-coated raisins, baked bread and toffee. On the palate there is a spicy, piquant texture and a wave of rich flavours: Brazil nuts in toffee, molasses, charcoal, cinnamon and clove, with leather, oak tannins and dark chocolate in the background. The finish is long and lingering, with notes of bitter orange marmalade, dates and cane syrup.

In this expression the sherry remains balanced rather than dominant. This is a whisky that shows what maturation in good sherry casks can look like, without turning into a so-called sherry bomb. According to Bill Lumsden, fifteen years in a carefully selected set of bourbon and oloroso casks introduced more complex and elegant notes that work together in harmony.
