Nazwa „Plavis” to hołd oddany rzece Piave (łac. Plavis), nad którą miały miejsce ważne wydarzenia historyczne. Wino skomponowane jest z odmiany Merlot, leżakowane w dębowych beczkach przez 12 miesięcy na osadzie, następnie kolejny rok w butelce. Ma bardzo intensywny rubinowy kolor i bukiet pełen dojrzałych czerwonych owoców. W ustach krągłe, z miękkimi taninami, o dobrej, bogatej strukturze i aromatycznym finiszu. Świetny towarzysz do prostej pizzy i pasty, jak również do duszonych mięs - również drobiowych.
