Chateau Montrose jest jednym z dwóch najwyżej sklasyfikowanych win z apelacji gminnej Saint-Estephe, sklasyfikowanych jako 2. Cru. Od 2006 roku winnica została nabyta przez braci Martina i Oliviera Bouygues, którzy wdrożyli siedmioletni plan pieczołowitej renowacji posiadłości, która odzyskała w 2013 roku dawny blask. Grona pochodzą z 95-hektarowej winnicy. Rocznik 2017 jest kompozycją Cabernet Sauvignon 76%, Merlot 20%, Cabernet Franc 3% i Petit Verdot 1%. Po zakończonej fermentacji wino dojrzewa 18 miesięcy we francuskich beczkach barrique, z czego 60% stanowią nowe beczki. Świetny rocznik z minimum 25-letnim potencjałem do przechowywania.
