From Armenia to Patagonia. Tastings at the end of the year
December at M&P is not only pre-Christmas shopping, but above all an intensive calendar of meetings with winemakers. This time we hit three strong regions: Armenia, Argentina and Tuscany, and our partners – Gabriel Rogel and Yevhen Asanov – took on the role of guides.

The highlight of the month was the visit of Gabriel Rogel. This Argentine winemaker has been responsible for wines at the Armenian Karas winery for 13 years. During dinners at Warsaw's Whisky & Cognac Club and at Na Skrajnej restaurant in Ząbki, Rogel brought together two worlds: the volcanic terroir of Armenia (Karas) with the harsh climate of Patagonia (Fin del Mundo). For participants, it was a rare opportunity to hear directly from the creator about the differences in running a winery on two such distinct continents. The second half of the month belonged to Italian classics. Yevhen Asanov led a series of training lunches dedicated to wines from Baron Ricasoli. The meetings at Ukryte Rzeki in Łódź and Chianti restaurant in Warsaw focused on the practical aspect of food pairing. We tested how Chianti Classico holds up against fusion cuisine and traditional Italian dishes. The conclusion? The oldest winery in the region is still in top form. We closed the December series with a set of open tastings in our salons, helping guests select wines for Christmas Eve dishes. Thank you for the attendance and substantive discussions over a glass.
