Wine tastings at M&P stores – what they're like and how to sign up
A tasting at an M&P store is an intimate affair: a dozen or so guests and a few wines discussed around the table. We hold such tastings in over 30 stores across Poland – see what they look like and how to sign up.

At M&P stores we hold tastings all year round in more than a dozen cities across Poland. In July and August 2026 alone we organised 39 tastings in 15 stores and hosted 500 guests. Around the table regulars meet people who are coming for the very first time. Every meeting is a chance to get to know wine better: in a small group, with an expert's commentary and several wines to compare.

What a tasting at an M&P store looks like

Most tastings last around two hours. Usually 5–7 wines end up in the glasses, or 3–4 in the shorter formats. A tasting is typically attended by a dozen or so people. We most often meet on Fridays and Thursdays at 6 p.m. or 7 p.m.

Tastings are led by an M&P adviser, a sommelier or a guest from a winery. Many members of our teams hold WSET 2 or WSET 3 certificates, and some are qualified sommeliers. During the meeting you will hear about the region, the producer and the grape varieties, and questions are always welcome. Guests ask, for example, how brandy differs from cognac, how the solera system works or what work in a vineyard involves.

The wines poured at tastings come from the M&P range, so you can usually buy them on the spot in the store or reserve them at wina-mp.pl for collection at the store of your choice. Tastings are open exclusively to adults.

Tasting formats

Guided tastings

This is our basic format: one theme – a region, a producer or a grape variety – and selected wines discussed around the table. In recent months these have included the wines of El Esteco from high-altitude Salta in Argentina, five expressions of chenin blanc from France, South Africa and India, and white Burgundies – from Chablis, Meursault and Pouilly-Fuissé.

Speed tastings and open bottle days

When there is no time for a whole evening, shorter formats come into their own. A speed tasting means 3–4 wines, usually in the afternoon – guests appreciate it for being cheaper and, above all, shorter. Some stores also hold open bottle days: any adult can then try the wine or other drink chosen for that day on the spot.

Blind tastings and Wine Casino

At blind tastings we reveal the labels only at the end, so all that counts is what is in the glass. That was the case with "Champagne Roulette" at the M&P Wrocław Piękna store, where champagnes stood alongside other sparkling wines made by the traditional method. Wine Casino, held in Wrocław, goes a step further: gaming mats and chips lie on the table, and after assessing the aroma, flavour and structure you bet on the grape variety, style, region and even the price of the wine. At the end the bottles are unveiled and every wine is discussed around the table.

Masterclasses with a special guest

Meetings with the people who create or represent these drinks are especially memorable. M&P stores have hosted, among others, Enrico Bison, ambassador of Fontanafredda, Sophia McLean of Cadenhead's and Rodrigo Ameijde of Alvarez y Diez. Masterclasses with Winnica Pałac Mała Wieś, in turn, made it possible to ask about life behind the scenes at a young Polish winery: the choice of grape varieties and the daily work in the vines.

Wine and food

Some tastings are combined with food. As a rule, appetisers are served with the wine at every meeting, but we also organise special food pairing events. The M&P Kielce Okrzei store held a "Sushi & Wine Pairing" evening, while the M&P Ząbki Powstańców store organises tastings at the "Na Skrajnej" restaurant, where the drinks are matched with carefully chosen dishes. You can check whether food is served with the wines in the event description.

To begin with: the ABC series

For those who are just starting out, the M&P Wrocław Piękna store runs meetings in the ABC series, such as "ABC of Wine", "ABC of France" or "ABC of Scotch Whisky". It is a good opportunity to learn the basics, especially for people who are only beginning to explore this world.

Whisky, rum, brandy and cigars

We don't just taste wine. The M&P Whisky & Cognac Club in Warsaw's Wesoła district regularly hosts masterclasses led by experts, often representatives of wineries and distilleries. Our stores also hold evenings devoted to whisky, rum and brandy, and the M&P Warszawa Ursynów Rosoła store holds cigar evenings once a month.

Festivals

The biggest tasting of the year is the M&P Pavlina Festival in Warsaw – the oldest festival of its kind in Poland. 2026 marks its 17th edition: 160 exhibitors, with over 600 wines included in the ticket price on Wine Day and over 200 spirits on Spirits Day. We also organise regional festivals – in 2026 in Łódź, Kalisz, Kraków and Opole – as well as the Pawlina Whisky & Friends festival.

Where and how often tastings take place

We organise tastings in over 30 stores in more than a dozen cities. The best way to check current dates is the events calendar, where they can be filtered by city.

How much does a tasting cost

Prices depend on the format and the products being tasted. Approximate figures are given below:

  • speed tastings – PLN 20–50,

  • most guided tastings – PLN 60–100,

  • tastings with more expensive wines, e.g. champagnes – around PLN 130–190,

  • tastings with dishes at a restaurant and cigar evenings – around PLN 200–300,

  • evenings with great wines, e.g. from Burgundy, the Rhône or Piedmont – PLN 250–400, while exceptional tastings of legendary wines cost more.

The current price is always given with the event in the calendar.

How to sign up for a tasting

  1. Go to the events calendar and choose the event you are interested in.

  2. On the event page click "Buy ticket". An account at wina-mp.pl is required to make a purchase.

  3. Pay online.

  4. Your PDF ticket will arrive by e-mail, usually within a few minutes. You will also find it in the user panel of your account.

  5. Show your ticket on arrival – either printed or on your phone screen.

For some events tickets can also be bought in store. There are usually between a dozen and twenty-odd places, so popular tastings sell out quickly. Tickets are bearer tickets (unless the event description states that they are personalised). Tickets are non-refundable, unless we cancel the event, change its date or significantly change its programme.

Private and corporate tastings

At selected stores you can book a tasting for a private occasion or for your company. At the M&P Warszawa Wesoła store you can hire the tasting room, at the M&P Warszawa Marina Mokotów store – the Wine Garden, while the Whisky & Cognac Club prepares tastings and events for companies, including exclusive hire. We also organise events at a location of the client's choice. You will find more details in the Guided tastings tab.

Tasting reports

We describe what has been happening in our stores recently in the reports in the "What's happening at M&P stores" series.

You will find all the reports in the News section.
