Royal Salute 21 Year Old Richard Quinn Edition II Orange Roses is a limited-edition blended Scotch whisky from the Royal Salute portfolio, a brand owned by Chivas Brothers, created in collaboration with British fashion designer Richard Quinn. This is the second edition of this partnership, a deeper exploration of Quinn's distinctive design style, with his love of traditional floral patterns combined with bold modernity.
The blend was created during a joint blending session at the historic Strathisla distillery, led by master blender Sandy Hyslop together with Richard Quinn. Whiskies from the Braeval, Strathisla and Caperdonich distilleries were selected and combined, chosen to reflect Quinn's personal taste preferences. Each component of the blend was matured for a minimum of 21 years. The whisky is bottled at 40% ABV.
The aroma bursts with vibrant notes of exotic fruits. The nose reveals accents of mango and banana, complemented by rounded, creamy vanilla fondant and cinnamon, along with a subtle note of roasted chestnuts. The palate is led by fruit. It is rich and fruity, with accents of sweet strawberry jam, pear and peach, while a delicate honey blossom is subtly balanced by spicy oak notes and a wisp of sweet smoke. The finish is silky and complex, with a lingering whisper of smoke.
This is a whisky with a lineage dating back to 1953. Royal Salute was created to mark the coronation of Queen Elizabeth II in 1953 and takes its name from the famous twenty-one gun salute. The malt heart of the brand is whisky from Strathisla, the oldest working distillery in the Scottish Highlands. The Richard Quinn edition is a collector's item. Three striking flagons are adorned with original designs inspired by the designer's floral prints, each bold and vivid in Quinn's classic style.
