Polski Ziemniak Wiosna 2025 (Polish Potato Spring 2025) is a Polish potato vodka from the limited, short-run line of the Old Polish Vodka manufactory, bottled at its natural strength of 43.2%. Old Polish Vodka is a Polish family-run company and a craft producer of spirits.
The spirit is based on potato rectified spirit. Its delicate taste and natural aroma are the result of using potato spirit sourced exclusively from Polish crops. A key role is also played here by the long maturation period and a proprietary gentle filtration technology. What is characteristic of this line is the decision not to adjust the strength – each edition is bottled in a single small batch, with no correction of the alcohol content.
The spring edition from 2025 is a strictly limited series. It comprises just 958 bottles at 43.2% ABV, and each 700 ml bottle bears an individual serial number. The spirit holds a kosher certificate.
The profile is dominated by the creamy, oily texture typical of potato distillates. This potato vodka is distilled exclusively from Polish potatoes, with no added flavourings or sugar, and its profile features a creamy, oily texture, the delicate sweetness of potato, a mild earthy undertone and a long finish – noticeably fuller and "heavier" than rye or wheat vodka. Polski Ziemniak vodka is distinguished by its mild and delicate taste and can be enjoyed neat, without any additions.
When served neat, it is best chilled. The classic Polish way to serve it is well-chilled vodka (2-4°C) in a shot glass, chased with cold beer or accompanied by herring and bread. The producer supplies the bottle with a gift box, making it an attractive gift proposition.
