Old Perth is an exceptional blended malt whisky, a
composition of the finest malt whiskies
matured in sherry casks, sourced from selected, renowned distilleries of the Speyside region. The history of the brand
dates back to 1908 when Peter Thomson, the owner of a specialist shop in
Perth, created a composition of whiskies from various regions, which quickly
gained great recognition and renown among consumers. After several decades,
the lustre of the Old Perth brand faded somewhat and in the 1960s it disappeared from
the market. After years of obscurity, nearly half a century later the Morrison family, one of
the oldest Scottish whisky-producing families, decided to purchase the
rights to it and bring it back to life as a blended malt whisky. Today's Old Perth
combines the most delicate malt whiskies matured in sherry casks,
sourced from the finest distilleries of the Speyside region. The name of the whisky refers to
the town of Perth, which in the past was the birthplace of the art of blending
whisky, where the finest compositions of aged malt and grain distillates
were created. The Original version is a composition of single malt whiskies with no age statement,
bottled at natural colour, non-chill filtered and at a strength of 46%. Refined
notes of sherry sweetness and subtle spiciness form the heart of this original
malt whisky, which then give way to warm aromas of dried
fruits, raisins, dark chocolate, cinnamon, honey and cloves
