Founded in 1798 in the very heart of the Isle of Mull, the Tobermory distillery is the only whisky producer on this picturesque island. Distilled in 1995, this unpeated whisky matured initially in Bourbon hogsheads and, for its final 12 years, was transferred to red wine casks, resulting in a superb dram as vivid as the famous colourful houses along the coast of the Isle of Mull. On the nose, aromas of redcurrants, dark plums and salted caramel. On the palate, grilled strawberries, sea breeze and a delicate hint of smoke. The finish brings red cherries, sea breeze and notes of herbal tea. The edition comprises only 573 bottles.
