Chopin Coconut Liqueur is a Polish cream liqueur with a coconut flavour, produced at the Podlaska Wytwórnia Wódek Polmos distillery in Siedlce, bottled at 18% ABV. It is made on a base of Chopin Rye vodka, which sets it apart from typical coconut liqueurs built on rum.
Behind the Chopin brand stands a family-owned distillery in Siedlce, founded in 1896 and renowned for its range of single-ingredient vodkas distilled from potatoes, wheat and rye. The coconut liqueur is created from real coconut flakes macerated in Chopin Rye vodka, with the addition of milk and sugar, giving it a natural, light profile. The rye base contributes a subtle note of peppery spice that balances the sweetness of the coconut.
In the glass it appears as a milky-white liquid with a smooth, creamy consistency. The producer describes it succinctly: a subtle aroma, delicate sweetness and a light, milky texture. The nose is dominated by sweet coconut, while the palate proves more complex than the aroma would suggest. On the palate there is a sweet milk-and-coconut cocktail on the attack, joined in the mid-palate by pineapple, white chocolate and cheesecake. The finish brings back the rye spice note, accompanied by vanilla, aniseed and creamy coconut.
It is served chilled or over ice, in a small glass. Neat, it evokes tropical associations, while its pronounced coconut flavour also makes it an ingredient for cocktails, shakes and desserts. It pairs well with coffee as well as chocolate and coconut desserts.
