Weber Haus is a small producer from Ivoti in southern Brazil, north of Porto Alegre, which places great emphasis on the highest quality of the final product. Commercial-scale distillation began here in 1948. The company uses traditional copper alembic stills, and for ageing it employs casks made from seven types of wood, including native Brazilian species. The sugar cane is grown organically (with certification) and harvested by hand, and its varieties are selected according to the type of soil and the microclimate. The distillery itself operates fully in line with the principles of sustainable development: fermentation is one hundred percent natural, only the heart of the distillate goes to ageing, and the bagaço, or cane pulp, returns to the fields as fertiliser. Annual production amounts to 630 thousand litres.
Thanks to its precision and attention to detail, Weber Haus has become one of the most frequently awarded cachaça producers in Brazil – it has won over 130 medals at international competitions such as the Concours Mondial de Bruxelles and the San Francisco World Spirits Competition. Despite the brand's enormous success in Brazil and abroad, Weber Haus remains a family business; today the distillery is run by the fourth generation of the Weber family, and the company continues to grow. Since 2017, besides cachaça, it has also been producing gin and rum.
