In the second half of March, we organized 19 tastings in M&P salons across Poland – we hosted over 250 people in total. The theme of the month was Sicilian wines from producer Tenute Orestiadi, whose wines appeared in as many as five salons: M&P Marki, M&P Piaseczno, M&P Ostroroga, M&P Wilanów and M&P Wielicka. Each salon approached the topic differently, guests had the opportunity to discover a wide range of wines – from light whites made from grillo and zibibbo varieties to unique Etna Rosso and mature Ludovico Riserva. Chilean wines from Tabali's high-altitude vineyards were featured in three salons: M&P Gdynia, M&P Niepodległości and M&P Wilanów. In the latter, the meeting was held in Russian. Participants at our meetings also had the opportunity to discover different expressions of South American wines. At M&P Gdańsk Rajska salon, Michał Kucharczyk led an Argentine evening with El Esteco – with particular emphasis on torrontés, where three versions of the same variety from one vineyard proved surprisingly different. M&P Arkuszowa salon focused on Zuccardi from the high-altitude desert, while M&P Grodzisk Mazowiecki salon showed that Uruguay is not just about tannat. Although this variety set the tone for the evening, wines from Traversa and Viña Salort showed a fuller picture of this region. M&P Ursynów salon divided the evenings between Bordeaux – with a cross-section of different châteaux, from Médoc to Pomerol – and Rioja with wines from Marqués del Atrio. M&P Gdańsk Rajska salon turned to Spain with brands Faustino Rivero Ulecia and Valderivero. At M&P Katowice salon, guests discovered that Puglia is not just primitivo, while M&P Białystok Transportowa salon presented white and red wines from the Marche region by producer Il Conte Villa Prandone. M&P Wrocław salon took guests on a journey through rieslings from five countries – Australia, France, Germany, Austria and New Zealand. M&P Grodzisk Mazowiecki salon closed the month with a tasting of rums from Martinique, Réunion and Jamaica, while M&P Zielonka salon gathered a diverse selection of wines from various countries at the table – with the Easter table in mind.
