Krupnik Advocat is a Polish egg liqueur with an ABV of 16% from the Krupnik brand portfolio, produced on a base of hen's egg yolks. It is made from natural yolks sourced from carefully selected hen's eggs. The 0.5-litre bottle holds a drink in the cream (milk) and dessert liqueur category.
The label's list of ingredients confirms the character of the product: ethyl alcohol, demineralised water, powdered egg yolks, sugar, brandy, flavourings, citric acid, Brandy Magnum macerate, colourings and vanillin. Due to the egg content, the producer indicates the presence of an allergen, and separation of the liquid resulting from the product's raw-material composition is considered normal.
In the glass, Advocat presents a thick, creamy consistency and a light golden colour. A vanilla aroma and a delicately creamy texture are the defining features of this liqueur. On the palate it is smooth and sweet, with a distinct note of vanilla along with eggy, milky sweetness.
The brand draws on a centuries-old Polish tradition. Krupnik is a brand whose roots reach back to the turn of the 17th and 18th centuries – at that time, Krupnik was the name given to a spirit drink based on honey and carefully selected herbs and spices, originally produced by monks as a medicine, which quickly found its way onto the tables of Polish noble households and wealthy peasants. Today, Krupnik is not only a liqueur based on honey, herbs and spices, but also a clear vodka as well as flavoured and cream liqueurs.
Advocat works well served chilled in a liqueur glass, as well as an addition to coffee and an ingredient in desserts – as a topping for ice cream, cakes or pancakes. The producer recommends storing it away from direct sunlight and, once opened, in the refrigerator.
