Glenfiddich 23 Year Old Grand Cru is a single malt Scotch whisky from Speyside, finished in French cuvée casks previously used to mature sparkling wines. This is a bottling from the Dufftown distillery's experimental "Grand" range, combining Scotch spirit with the influence of casks drawn from winemaking.

Glenfiddich is one of Scotland's oldest family-owned distilleries. Founded by William Grant in 1886, Glenfiddich remains under the stewardship of the fifth generation of the Grant family and is one of the few large family-run distilleries still surviving in Scotland.

The whisky is built in two stages. After 23 years of maturation in American and European oak casks, every drop of Grand Cru spends a further 6 months in French cuvée casks. This single malt initially matures in American and European oak casks before being transferred to rare French cuvée casks, whose influence lifts the palate with notes of baked goods and fresh fruit.

In the glass, the whisky shows a deep golden colour. The nose opens with apple blossom, freshly baked bread and candied lemon, while the palate reveals layers of rich vanilla and oak, sweet brioche, sandalwood, pear sorbet and white grapes; the finish is long, opulent and sweet. Bottled at 40% ABV.
