Luc Belaire Gold is a French sparkling wine from Burgundy, composed from a blend of Chardonnay and Pinot noir. Produced in Burgundy, France from Chardonnay and Pinot noir grapes. The brand belongs to a house whose history dates back to the end of the 19th century – Belaire originates from a Maison whose history dates back to 1898.
A distinguishing feature of this cuvée is the way it is sweetened. This classic cuvée is made with a dosage from organic sugar cane, a historical touch referencing French wines of the 1920s, which adds length and structure to the wine.
The aroma is led by stone fruits and bakery notes. The wine opens with aromas of stone fruits, ripe pear and brioche. Tropical mango notes complement the fresh Chardonnay fruit and limestone minerality on the palate. Finely built and delicate, the wine has a light, dry finish. On the palate, aromas of white flowers appear alongside citrus and stone fruits such as peach, grapefruit and lemon, and in the mouth the wine is dry and light, with a crisp finish.
The alcohol content is 12.5%. As a pairing, Luc Belaire Gold works well as an aperitif and as a companion to seafood, poultry and grilled vegetables – it is worth trying with ratatouille. Formally, it is a sparkling wine from Burgundy, not Champagne – Luc Belaire is a French sparkling wine, but not Champagne; Champagne is a legally protected appellation of origin used exclusively for sparkling wines from specific grape varieties produced in the Champagne region using the traditional method.
